Image: Percy the PaintbrushToday's Wildlife Safari takes you to the fantastic Young@ Art club at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath.  The gallery has activities running on Fridays throughout the holidays which are suitable for children between 3-11 and cost £4 per session. All sessions run between 10.30-12.00 and 1.30-3.00, please telephone 01225 477233 for more information. On Friday 16 August children will be able to create amazing flowers and bugs using a variety of techniques as part of the 'Fabulous Flowers and Beautiful Bugs event'. Bath is a stunning city with the wildlife-rich River Avon running through it, so why not make a day of it and get inspired by the natural world around you.

Emerald damselflyAfter your visit you could take a stroll down to the River Avon and enjoy some peace an quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The River Avon trail gives you more information about walks and wildlife, the history and geology that you can discover along the river and around Bath. This would be a great place to some photos or even do some drawing. Look out for animal prints and other signs of wildlife, you could make a record of them and create your own 'Wildlife Guide to Bath'. The BBC's Summer of Wildlife campaign has some excellent resources that you can use to get some inspiration.
